The challenge

Aktiia’s rapid growth presented a classic scale-up dilemma: how to manage exponential expansion without ballooning operational costs. Mathieu Danthony, VP of Finance and Operations, realized that traditional scaling methods would undermine Aktiia’s margins and flexibility.

To sustain this growth, Aktiia identified several critical challenges that needed to be addressed:

The solution

Anticipating these challenges, Aktiia identified various automation and interfacing tools as a strategic lever for supporting its rapid growth. By implementing an integration platform, they aimed to connect finance, sales, and operations, onboard new logistics partners, and expand into marketplaces like Amazon across the EU.

Mathieu led the adoption of Celigo, as part of migrating to a new cloud-based ERP, and bringing accounting functions in-house. Celigo’s intuitive interface and prebuilt connectors allowed his team to work efficiently and stay agile.

Mathieu explains, “Each core department—operations, commercial, and finance—has a lead overseeing automation with Celigo. We define our needs internally and work with one of Celigo’s global implementation partners to build the initial integrations. Once set up, we manage any adaptions of business logic in automation, data field changes, and error handling in-house, which keeps us in control as we scale.”

Aktiia has already established seamless connections across its core systems using Celigo:

  • CMS to ERP Integration: Automates the flow of orders from the website to the ERP, instantly creating all the relevant transaction records whenever an order is made.
  • ERP to 3PL Integration: Triggers fulfilment requests upon order placement, and automatically syncs inventory levels and returns data between logistics partners and internal systems.
  • Sales Channel Integration: Syncs product information and promotions to Amazon while seamlessly integrating orders and payments back into AKTIIA’s systems.

As Aktiia secures additional funding and expands into new markets, it is already exploring further automation and interfacing opportunities in areas like HR and B2B sales.
